After much deliberation and re-aligning to our core mission (spreading great ideas and practices), we decided to close the corporate learning center.  This does NOT mean we stopped doing training, workshops and other great learning events – we are just seeking out great locations to host events and save money.  What started out as a cost cutting discussion, has turned into a very valuable way for us to connect in new ways and places – thanks to Aptera, Parkview, Ivy Tech and the Innovation Center for hosting our first outside events (If you are interested in hosting – let us know, it has been positive for both parties).

Almost since inception of the Network, we have all worked out of home offices (yes, I’m in my P.J.’s even now at 1:30 in the afternoon), so we are used to working collaboratively online, on the phone and face to face at great dives and diners.

Another Change

For years we have been doing Lean, Six Sigma, then Lean Six Sigma training – we feel it’s one of those “great ideas and practices” that is timeless and critical to getting better.  We have heard some rumblings (thanks!!) that that was all that we were about.  The “rumblers” were more right then we would have wanted to admit and when Scott decided to resign, we could more clearly see that we have focused too much on that one thing.  We will continue to work with Scott and others to offer world class training in that area, but we have no plans for a full time trainer to be on staff.  In hindsight it fits best with our desire to remain neutral.

During the separation with Scott, we had some big bumps that some of you may have experienced – I apologize to those who were inconvenienced, I wish I would have handled it better.  Fortunately, I have learned from the process and come to appreciate Scott in a new way, as a partner, but again sorry!

And to the More Exciting Details

As we have shifted much energy away from Lean Six Sigma, we have had more resources to pursue some of the ideas that have been brewing for years.  With my background in technology and being a major geek – we decided to pursue many technologies that help bring the content to you.  We have experimented in the past and feel the time is right to embrace this technology even more.

We still love the personal interactions of sessions, but when you can’t make it – we are hoping that you will still find lots of helpful information on our blog – sharetogain.com.  It’s full of articles, videos, audio, presentations… it’s also a great place to let us hear your voice – to “rumble” on demand.

So the next time you are sitting and waiting, you could also be learning – on your web phone, iPod, laptop, computer.

We monitor the blog closely and ask the speakers to add content and join the discussions as well – please let us know what we can do to enhance that experience.  The site is really a culmination of your great ideas and our experiences.

So What About the “Same Things”?

We will always be collaborators at heart (“By Sharing We All Gain”) – that’s the same thing, we just want to continue to be relevant to the times and issues of the day.  If you have “rumblings” that can help us do it better, speak out – we need your voice, not just your “Indiana Nice” (tell us only the good things).

We will continue to seek out the best resources and partners – if you come across one, let us know and we’ll go after it!
